Harper Lee Speaks

I recently saw Nelle Harper Lee, author of "To Kill A Mockingbird." Everyone says that she doesn't talk, that's she is a recluse.

I found the opposite to be true. She does talk. And she listens quite well also. And she isn't a recluse. She just does what she wants to do, and most of those things receive little or no fanfare.

However, on September 13, 2006 Nelle Harper Lee received a Lifetime Achievement Award from "The Birmingham Pledge," a non-profit foundation that works to erase racism and other isms from society.

So THAT event received some fanfare, although not as much as I thought it would.

I will be posting photos and video from the event and sharing my recollections here on this blog.
